For nearly a century, the Moes family has been dedicated to expert auto body repair, proudly serving Fostoria and families throughout the Tri-County area, including Findlay and Tiffin.

The story began in 1934 when Edward N. Moes opened a collision repair facility in downtown Fostoria, specializing in auto body repair and refinishing. He successfully operated the business for the next decade, laying the foundation for a family tradition of craftsmanship.

His son, Edward J. Moes, learned the trade as a young man while working at Willis Hakes Ford’s body shop. After serving his country in World War II, he returned home to Fostoria and continued his career in collision repair. In 1948, he established Moes Body Shop at 1247 N. Countyline Street — the location that remains home to the business today.

The original 50-by-60-foot facility employed just two people. By 1965, the shop had doubled in size and grown to a team of ten employees under Ed Jr.’s leadership. In 1978, Steve Moes took over operations and invested heavily in advanced equipment and technology, solidifying Moes Body Shop as the premier collision repair facility in the Fostoria, Findlay, and Tiffin region.

Today, Brett Moes, Steve’s son, proudly carries on the fourth-generation legacy. Leading a skilled team of professionals, he continues the family commitment to quality craftsmanship, proper repairs, and customer-first service — ensuring that every vehicle is restored safely and correctly.
